Board-certified headache specialist
Meet Dr. Stephanie Vertrees
She founded the practice she wished existed when she was seeking treatment for migraine herself: clinically rigorous, candid, and built around time to listen.

Why Vertrees Headache Center exists
A specialist practice without the rushed-visit machinery.
Headache disorders can be complex, disabling, and deeply disruptive. They rarely fit into a brief appointment. Dr. Vertrees takes time to understand the pattern, the previous treatments, and the parts of daily life that a checklist misses.
She is board certified in Neurology and Headache Medicine and focuses on migraine, cluster headache, neuralgias, medication-overuse headache, and other difficult headache conditions.
The goal is not to sell a miracle. It is to build an evidence-based plan, explain it plainly, and adjust it thoughtfully as your care progresses.

The room matters too
Designed to lower the volume.
The office uses low light, fragrance-free practices, low-VOC materials, and a calm pace. Those details are part of competent headache care, not amenities added for show.
Listen first
Your history and priorities shape the visit.
Use the evidence
Treatment choices follow current headache medicine.
Explain the plan
You should know what comes next and why.
Keep adjusting
Complex care is iterative, not one-size-fits-all.
A small, focused practice
A team that already understands the context.
From clinical care to scheduling, the team works with headache patients every day. Theo, the practice therapy dog, is available by request and can also stay elsewhere during your visit.
