Find relief in a space designed for healing

I have been to two headache clinics in two cities over the past many. years — and neither comes close to the quality, attention, and benefits of the Vertrees Headache Center in Austin. After completing a thorough medical history beforehand, I had a lengthy personal interview (with my spouse present) with Dr Vertrees, with a neurological exam included. She is extremely knowledgeable, personable, and highly professional. With a good sense of humor but a serious commitment to helping the individual, she established an excellent rapport with me and with my wife. This atmosphere permeated the entire staff, which is small and warm but more than adequate. Part of that staff is a charming therapy dog in the room (which can be escorted out if requested). The information and program I was put on were extensive, but tailored to my own headaches. Her website is excellent — and I recommend anyone with any kind of headache at all to check it out. The Center is one-of-a-kind outstanding!

When I first visited Dr Vertrees, I was having an average of 5 headaches a week and seemingly always taking medication. I have struggled with this issue for about 10 years and have gone to several other doctors, but none could come up with a solution that worked to prevent my headaches. I thought that I might never get this condition under control. Dr Vertrees diagnosed me with medication overuse headache and put me on a protocol of meds that would reduce the number of migraines I was having over time. After a few months I am down to maybe one headache every 2 weeks. I don't think I could be any happier with this result and highly recommend Dr. Vertrees to anyone having chronic migraines.

I love Dr. Vertrees! She helped me figure out that I had a condition that had been missed for possibly years. It’s IIH, and could have cost me my eyesight if it continued to go undiagnosed. I also do Botox injections with her for my migraines, she’s very gentle with these, much better than other providers I’ve had. She really takes her time to go through everything with you. When I’ve had labs she gives me very complete results over messaging if I’ve just had an appointment with her. I can’t say enough good things about her!

Dr Vertrees is very skilled and compassionate. She is dedicated to helping people suffering with migraines and other headaches have quality of life and the ability to function. As a fellow physician, I’m grateful for her as a resource for patients in Austin.
